Thanks
to the Marine Traffic Project it's possible to see the
state of shipping around the world.
The map below shows vessels currently in the English Channel
and tracks them in real time *.
- Use your
mouse scroll button (or the +/- slider at the top
left of the map) to zoom in and out.
- Hover over
a particular ship to display its name, speed and course.
- Click on
the ship for more information.
- Change the
area covered on the map by moving the hand icon (or
with the "compass" at the top left of the
map).
- The map
refreshes automatically. The number of seconds to
the next refresh is shown at the bottom of the map.
* NB: Vessel
positions may be up to one hour old or incomplete.
