Just a few details of our Summer Camp. It's at Twyford, very near reading, with a river and stream very suitable for both swimming and fishing. The village has some rather quaint PHs which can bear examination.

In the rehearsals for the Show, the best numbers are undoubtedly Spring, We Are the Famous Cheerups and Early in the Morning. I wonder why.

At the Boxing we had a superb exhibition of boxing from Brian and a superb exhibition of slugging from John the Down. What a pity that John the Champ was suffering from the after effects of 'flu'.

Sports Report

Handball Match versus the 1st Hammersmith.
.... It must be recorded that John the Champ missed a penalty but did not fail to miss several sheets of plate glass, four feet above the goal. Wanted... a handyman.

Handball Match versus the 20th Willesden.
Played at the 20th's HQ at Willesden. Score: 12 - 2.
Scorers: John the Champ: 9 goals, Bob the Hay: 2 goals, Brian: 1 goal.

The Show is next Friday. Have you got your ticket? they are nearly sold out.

We had a meeting last Wed. A report can be found in this issue, plus many other interesting articles......

(Webmaster's note: This was followed by a number of blank pages, denoting the Editor's frustration at not receiving promised material.)

It seems that as the District Senior Troop is to have a mag, we shall have to restart our fortnightly effort. I have had promises of articles from Sam W, Alan Willis and Trevor Noakes, so our next issue will be packed with superb items.

... The Show is now all over. We are not doing any more charity shows, apart from a performance in aid of the Senior subs.... Not being self congratulatory, I do think that the performances of our lads were very good. In fact, experience told ... or so I'm told.

Report of a Match between the Senior Scouts
and the Scout Troop.

Senior team: Joe, Alan, Brian, Stan and Bob.

Challenged by a very confident Scout team, the game commenced after Troop Meeting.

The Senior team swung into the attack and only the brilliance of Barducci in goal prevented a goal early in the match. The Scouts played very close handball and seemed unused to the use of the long ball.

Alan, playing in his first game, showed excellent anticipation and scored a hat trick. But the discovery of the evening was Joe who, with a mixture of good positional play and sheer audacity, kept a clean sheet.

Bob scored a penalty and Stan didn't. The Scouts were rather outplayed and finished very tired. Bob scored 7, Brian 3, Alan 3 and Stan 2 goals. Result 15 - 0. What a shame.

Bob Hay.
